Founder & CEO

Megan Beaver is Vice President of Spotlight Branding, the Charlotte-based law firm marketing agency now operating as Spotlight Marketing + Branding. A University of North Carolina at Charlotte graduate, Beaver runs the operations side of the firm, overseeing the teams responsible for client service, content production, and account management. Her role is internally focused: ensuring that the websites, blogs, newsletters, videos, and ad campaigns the agency sells actually ship on time and hold together as a coherent program for each law firm client. She is not the agency's founder. Spotlight Branding was launched in 2012 by Marc Cerniglia and Danny Decker as a content marketing firm for attorneys. The two split operationally in 2018, with Cerniglia continuing to build Spotlight Branding's content and branding practice while Decker concentrated on paid advertising, lead generation, and coaching. In January 2025 the partners reunited under the Spotlight Marketing + Branding banner, combining content and paid media into a single offering aimed at law firms at varying stages of growth. That reunion defines the agency's current thesis: most solo and small firms rely too heavily on referrals, and the fix is pairing always-on content (websites, blogs, video FAQs, email newsletters) with paid lead generation (Google, Meta, and LinkedIn ads plus nurture automation), so the same firm is simultaneously retaining its network and expanding it. Beaver's visible role in that structure is making the execution layer reliable. The public founder and leadership bios on the site are brief, so most context comes from the agency's story page rather than individual profiles.

Editorial

Editor’s take

Spotlight Branding positions itself as a full-service legal marketing shop emphasizing a two-pronged content-plus-paid-ads model. The site stresses lead quality over volume and includes educational content (blog, podcast, webinars) aimed at solo and small-firm lawyers. Specifics on client size, outcomes, or vertical sub-specialization (e.g., personal injury, IP, estate planning) are absent; positioning reads as horizontal across the legal market.

What they do

Services

Law Firm Website Design

Attorney-specific websites positioned as the credibility anchor for referral traffic. The team builds sites intended to reflect a firm's professionalism to prospects who are researching a lawyer after being referred, rather than optimizing purely for cold search.

Content Marketing (Blogs, Video FAQs, Brandfilm)

Ongoing educational content written and produced for attorneys who don't have time to create it themselves. Blog writing, short video FAQs, and brandfilm production are used to keep firms visible to past clients and referral sources between matters.

Email Newsletter Marketing

Monthly e-newsletters aimed squarely at a law firm's existing contact list: former clients, co-counsel, and referral partners. The agency treats staying top-of-mind with an established network as a distinct job from generating new cold leads.

Lead Generation Ads

Paid campaigns on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn built around lead magnets, landing pages, and drip sequences. The approach is aimed at firms that have outgrown referrals and need a predictable pipeline, with automated follow-up to nurture leads until they're ready to hire.

SEO and AI Search

Organic search work paired with a newer offering focused on visibility inside AI answer engines such as ChatGPT. The AI Search service is packaged specifically for law firms trying to show up in generative answers to legal questions.

Social Media and Podcast Production

Organic social management and podcast production for attorneys who want to publish consistently without building an in-house media team. Content is repurposed across channels to support the broader brand-building program.
